How is Wine Prepared?
Everyone in the world may know that wine is made from grapes. However, did it ever occur to you how the grapes are being transformed into the red or white wine that you usually enjoy sipping from your glass?
First, ripe grape fruits are harvested and crushed until all the juice is extracted. After that, grape juice is allowed to ferment for one to two weeks. During this period, the sugar in the juice is partly converted into alcohol or wine. The wine then undergoes a secondary fermentation where the rest of the sugar is converted into alcohol. After fermentation, the wine is then stored in large oak barrels to age. There are also other wine producers that immediately bottle the product right after fermentation.
